ABOUT HEATHER
About Heather
As a therapist since 2003, I have cultivated a diverse professional background including working in private practice for more than 15 years, a large community mental health system and with the Department of Defense. I have completed Level 1 training in Internal Family Systems, a certification as an eating disorder specialist, certification in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and more extensive study among leading experts in the field. I am dedicated to continuous personal and professional growth through training, study, and a slight podcast addiction across genres.
I regularly provide consultation to other therapists and give presentations to community groups and colleagues on different aspects of mental health. I am particularly passionate about addressing the mental health needs of individuals affected by cancer, drawing from both professional insights and personal experience as a cancer survivor.

Outside of my practice, I reside in Manhattan, Kansas with my husband and two teenagers, striving to raise them to be kind and considerate individuals. You’ll often find me enjoying the outdoors, whether it’s relaxing on my porch with coffee and a book, attending local sporting events, or attempting to wrangle my spirited Golden Retriever puppy on a hike in the Flint Hills. I am also a long time meditator and have attended meditation retreats in various locations throughout the U.S.

“I’ve had the privilege of serving as a therapist, guiding individuals, couples, and families through their most pivotal—and often difficult— life transitions.”
